Four Obscure Destinations to put on Your Travel Bucket List

Best travel size SPF face mist.

We don’t know about you but we are ready for some fun in the sun! And while a walk in the park is always nice, and those discount trips to Cuba can be tempting, there’s something really special about heading off into the unknown, and spending your vacation somewhere no one you know has ever been. It’s also a help they won’t be crawling with other tourists! So pack your ZINC IT OVER® Sunscreen Facial Mist and your favorite shades, and check out these little-known gems.

Anguilla in the Caribbean

Anguilla travel bucket list

Anguilla is a mostly flat island close to St. Martins. In spite of its proximity, it doesn’t have the same tourist population as the larger island. It’s a great place for both relaxation and privacy. There are no non-stop flights from the US, and even Jet-Skis are not allowed on any of its pristine, white beaches (there are over 33 of them.) In spite of that, there’s still a great tourist trade, with 4-star hotels, fine dining, and a great nightlife in Sandy Ground! There are also plenty of other water sports, including great fishing, and snorkeling experiences.

Hainan Island in China

Hainan Island travel bucket list

Plenty of Chinese and Russian tourists take advantage of the islands many amenities for their vacations. But the island is fairly unknown to foreign travelers, in spite of the fantastic tropical beaches, with Xixui beach being a favorite for windsurfing and other water sports. It’s also home to beautiful national rainforest reserves, including a volcano park and a bird sanctuary. The Temple of Five Lords, and Five Finger Mountain are just the beginning of the historical and cultural sites on the island. The island’s biggest city, Sanya, boasts a Ritz-Carlton property, but there are plenty of smaller hotels and resorts to choose from.

Koh Lipe in Thailand

Koh Lipe travel bucket list

Koh Lipe is a tiny island that is part of the Tarutao National Marine Park. It is only accessible by boat, which may account for the lack of tourism there. It is also home to some of the most incredible marine life found in the area. There are notable gorgeous beaches, as well as scuba diving sites, including the famous 8 Mile Rock and Lipe Shipwreck. The island is home to great hiking and amazing marine life. But be warned, it’s so remote you’ll have to carry cash. There are no ATMs on the island, and no malls. You can, however, pick up your suntan lotion and flip flops at the local convenience stores, and street vendors sell handmade souvenirs during the day.

Chiapas in Mexico

Chiapas Mexico travel bucket list

For something a bit different than the typical beach holiday, as well as being closer to home, and more affordable, Chiapas may be the right place for you. As well as the ecotourism, including the jungles, the nature reservations, and beaches, Chiapas is home of many archaeological sites, including the remains of a Mayan temple. There is also a museum of Mayan textiles, to add culture to your trip. The many waterfalls and adventure tours are enough to keep you busy over the holiday!

After a long winter break, there’s nothing better than heading out for warmer climates, for a bit of fun and sun- just don’t forget your ZINC IT OVER® Broad Spectrum SPF 25 Over Makeup Sunscreen Facial Mist! Sometimes, you don’t know what you’re missing when you set out to plan your next vacation. Wandering off the beaten tourist path can lead you to some amazing adventures!
